Community Links Volunteer Program provides opportunities for children, youth, adults, seniors, and families to become engaged in the community through a variety of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are an integral component to the success of Community Links’ service delivery. Registered volunteers are interviewed and screened. A criminal records check, a child intervention check, a driver’s abstract and character references may be required depending on the volunteer opportunity.

Friendly Visiting
Purpose: The Friendly Visiting Program is a preventive program to help isolated seniors live independently in the safety of their own home and community for a longer period of time by providing social contact, companionship and support. This is achieved by decreasing social isolation, providing seniors with an opportunity to gain increased community involvement and responding to basic needs.

Friendly Visitor Volunteer Position Description
Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
Purpose: The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is for community members who meet criteria set out by the CRA (income threshold, simplicity of taxes, etc.). There is no cost to the community member to utilize this program.

Special Events
Purpose: Volunteers provide a wide variety of tasks at community events. Jobs may include greeting, parking direction, ticket taking, garbage/recycling removal, assistance with activities, etc.
