Counselling provides one on one counselling to individuals, couples, families, youth and children and offers a variety of therapeutic workshops and groups
The goal of Counselling Services is to improve social well-being of individuals by providing services to support community members to navigate challenging life events and transitions through building resilience, increasing their skills to problem solve and to increase confidence to take action to improve their lives.

Amanda - Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
Inspired by her own healing journey, Amanda seeks to provide the same safe space she benefited from to others who are seeking to take the journey towards healing and growth. Amanda completed her Bachelor of Arts in Spiritual Theology (Christian theology with an emphasis on spiritual growth and wellbeing) at Rocky Mountain College in 2008 and the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2022 from Yorkville University. Working from a humanistic and person-centered approach, Amanda utilizes a variety of popular and science-based tools from an eclectic blend of modalities (Narrative, CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, etc.) Her goal is to help each person feel heard/seen, valued, and empowered to live their best life.

Tannis- Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, Applied Child Studies Degree, and Disability Studies Diploma. Registered Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Tannis has over 15 years’ experience connecting with and supporting parents with their child’s development and healthy behavior management. Tannis has completed level 1 and 2 of the Gottman Methods Couples Therapy. Tannis enjoys practicing from several different modalities including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion focused therapy, mindfulness, and solution focused therapy. She is passionately committed to emotional awareness and thrives in the opportunity to walk along-side those journeying towards creating a life of increased purpose and meaning.

Kelly- Master Degree in Counselling Psychology.
Prior to joining Community Links, Kelly worked as a Counsellor/Mental Health Therapist in different settings such as immigrant agencies, non-profit agencies, school for special needs students and Alberta Health Services (currently known as the Recovery Alberta). Kelly worked with individuals in all age ranges. She has encountered and worked with a wide variety of issues/problems people face and struggle in their daily lives.
As a generalist, she utilizes an eclectic approach that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual. She identifies with the philosophy of being a person-centered practitioner with a focus on the person, their background, preferences, and autonomy. In addition, she incorporates techniques from various therapy modalities such as CBT, DBT, and exposure therapy to help achieve desired outcomes.
In addition to counselling, Kelly has worked with families focusing on parent-child relationships and parenting. With a combination of the systemic approach as well as attachment-based perspectives, she helped parents to foster a nurturing environment that is conducive to their children’s healthy growth and development.

Accessing Counselling Services
An intake is required through our Information and Referral Service. It can be completed in-person or over the phone prior to counselling.
Self-referrals are welcome. Appropriate referrals to other agencies may be made to ensure all community members needs are met
Single Session Counselling Services
Single Session Counselling provides one-to-one timely assistance and gives the skills community members need to address a life situation.
Single Session Counselling is free.
Single Session Counselling may lead to a referral into Regular Counselling for further sessions.
Regular Counselling Sessions
Regular Counselling provides up to seven one-to-one sessions.
Regular Counselling is here to create space for you to be heard, to develop new tools, and to be supported as you navigate any number of concerns including depression, stress, anger, family violence, emotional deregulation, grief and loss and relationships.
Counselling Services are inclusive, strengths based and individualized to guide you to be your best self.
Child and Youth Counselling
Regular Counselling provides up to seven one-to-one sessions.

Support is provided for situations such as trauma experiences, parent - teen conflict, separation/divorce, blended family issues, self-harm, emotional regulation, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, conflict resolution, healthy relationship skills, bullying and exposure to family violence.
Fees
Counselling Services with Community Links is set up to affordable. No-one is refused services due to financial reasons. Single Session Counselling is offered at no cost. Regular Counselling Services are based on a sliding scale.
