Airdrie Fair Access Program (AFA)

  • Support Services provides support to complete and approves applications for the Airdrie Fair Access Program.

  • This Program supports low-income residents of the City of Airdrie with subsidized programming within Airdrie.  It qualifies individuals and families for admission, passes and registered programs to the City of Airdrie Recreation Centers and Airdrie Transit fares (including ACCESS Airdrie, ICE, and Airdrie Hello-to-Go).

  • Applicants must meet income requirements and provide proof of residency.  Some restrictions apply.  For more information and for a copy of the application form visit City of Airdrie Subsidy Program for low-income residents

    Basic Needs Program

  • Public Access Room: there is a private space with access to a phone, computer, printer with internet access for community member use.

  • Vault: onsite there is a community closet where residents can obtain donated items for free including: coats, shoes and personal hygiene items.

  • Food bags: if you need additional support, there are emergency Food Bags available, provided by the Airdrie Food Bank.

  • Sleep Country: Support Services is a referral hub to Sleep County, helping community members to access free beds. 

  • Homeless Backpacks: if you are experiencing homelessness or have had to flee your home these Backpacks, donated by Airdrie First, provide basic essential needs. 

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)

  • In partnership with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Community Links, volunteers, trained and screened through CRA and Community Links, prepare income tax returns for North Rocky View residents. 

  • The Program is designed to support residents with a modest income and a simple tax situation.

  • Community Links staff provide residents support to gather all the necessary forms and information to support the completion of their income tax.

Information and referral services (intake)

  • Are you facing challenges and are looking for support to get connected to programs and services that can help?  Our Information and Referral Service can help.

  • This Service can be accessed over the phone or in person by visiting our Airdrie or Beiseker offices or one of our satellite locations (Crossfield and Irricana) during regular business hours.  No appointment is required.

  • Intake staff provide information, supported referrals, and advocacy to help residents connect to services and programs withing Community Links, within your community, or from Government.  The program is designed to empower residents to identify their specific needs and build knowledge and problem-solving skills to address challenges now and in the future.  

Navigator Services

  • The Navigator can provide one on one support to residents of Airdrie facing multiple or more complex challenges.  This Service can be accessed over the phone or in person by appointment.  To access this Service, residents need to have been referred by Information and Referral Services.

  • This Service will support residents to identify personal goals and actions steps to address some of the challenges they face.

  • The Navigator can provide assistance to residents to identify appropriate supports and provide more direct assistance to complete applications and support referrals, acting as an advocate to address barriers to necessary support.

 Senior Services

  • The Seniors Support Worker can provide one on one support to residents of Airdrie over the age of 55.  This Service can be accessed over the phone or in person by appointment.  To access this Service, residents need to have been referred by Information and Referral Services.
