Who Do You Tell?

(3 - 12 years)

Community Links presents: “Who Do You Tell?”™

In partnership with Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) this program is carefully tailored to each child’s grade and developmental level. The program uses a variety of engaging teaching tools, including stories, videos, pictures and skits, to effectively convey important lessons about body autonomy, personal safety and child sexual abuse. The use of multiple sessions helps reinforce these concepts, with research showing children successfully retain the program’s key messages. CCASA staff are thoroughly trained to respond sensitively to children’s questions and disclosures, following clear protocols to ensure the child’s safety and well-being.

Parent Session: This presentation provides information about the program content and instruction methods. Parents are given information about child sexual abuse, how to talk to your children about sexual abuse and how to respond to disclosures. There will be opportunities throughout to discuss any questions and/or concerns.

Please note: Parents must attend the information session prior to their child participating in the program.

Parent Support Café: Facilitated by Community Links staff, this support group is offered as part of the “Who Do You Tell?”™ program. Parents can connect, receive support, share and recharge while children are attending the program.

Participation consent will be required before any information can be shared with CCASA.
