Do you want to strengthen your connection and communication with your tween/teen in a fun and unique way? Our Dungeons & Dragons group is designed for parents and youth ages 8 – 17 who are interested in connecting through fantasy, role play, teamwork, and adventure.
Guided by a “Dungeon Master” (game facilitator/parent coach), families will take part in hour-long fantasy adventures where players make choices based on their character’s personality, values, and goals. Through imaginative storytelling and collaborative problem solving, participants will work together to overcome challenges, explore new worlds, and create memorable experiences.
Dungeons & Dragons offers a safe and creative environment for youth and caregivers to practice skills such as:
Communication and teamwork
Problem solving and critical thinking
Public speaking and storytelling
Leadership and decision making
Advocating for wants and needs
Because parents participate alongside their child, this group offers a unique opportunity to better understand how your preteen responds to responsibility, setbacks, learning opportunities, leadership roles, and social situations. Throughout the program, the facilitator can help identify emerging strengths, support skill development, and provide insight into how these experiences connect to child development and everyday life at home.
*** No experience with or knowledge of D&D is necessary. Pre-made characters, dice, and other materials will be provided.
