Online Safety for Parents and Children

How do parents better manage tech use with children?  In this ever-changing world of technology, it can be challenging to stay a step ahead of our youngsters.  Parents are encouraged to register for both a Mini Workshop and the Parent Only Workshop.

Mini Workshops

Parent and child can join online and learn together.  A parent coach will strengthen your parenting knowledge in an age appropriate and interactive way, you will learn about healthy screen time habits and routines, how to respond to common screen time problems and what responsible tech use looks like for different families.  Learn things you can to create a positive online experience for your family.

These workshops are broken down by age: 2-3, 4-6, 7-11 and 12-17.

Parent only workshop

We will introduce a presenter from ALERT with the RCMP who tackles internet crime connected to children.  By learning from ALERT you will feel up to date as well as have a space to ask questions around managing what comes into your home via technology.

Are you curious to know when to expect typical developmental milestones for your infant or young child?  If so, you may also be interested in the Mini Milestones Program, please click the link for additional information.

The Mini Milestones Program is under construction and will return in the New Year.  If you are looking to complete an ASQ 3 or ASQ-SE 2 for your child, please call 403-945-3900 and ask to be connected with our FRN Hub who will ensure you are referred to our Spoke partner Closer to Home in the meantime
