Beyond Messy Play Drop-in

 
 

Did you know all children learn through play?  Do you want to get out of the house and connect with other families? Guardians/ caregivers attend with their children 0-12 years, this play program aims to bring people of all ages together, breaking down age-based stereotypes and allowing for families to grow stronger by building connection. Guardians/ caregivers are encouraged to follow the lead of their children regardless of age for all participants child led play encourages social and cognitive development, fosters independence, builds intrinsic motivation and supports resilience. During this group parent coaches provide parenting insights, provide parenting insights, answer questions about child behaviour and development and offer information on upcoming community programs and events as well as direct you to other community resources.   

 Activities are carefully chosen with stage of development and family diversity in mind.  In this open concept space, you will find areas for dramatic play, indoor physical play, creative arts, sensory develop and challenges for developing minds. 

How do I sign up?

All adults must complete an annual registration which will include information about each child who may attend the program with them.  Please register online or if needed when you arrive at the Program.  If you have registered for Messy Play and More your registration will carry over into Beyond Messy Play.

What is a drop in?

Drop in for this program means you can choose one day each week to bring the family, space availability is on a first come first serve basis.  Once the program has reached capacity, then the Program will be closed to additional participants for the day.  PLAY IS FULL signs will be posted when the capacity is met.

Can someone else bring my child?

A caregiver or someone who is not the child’s parent/ guardian can bring the child after the registration is completed, and consent provided by the parent/ guardian. The caregiver will be asked to complete a registration for themselves at the door.
